The Captain Morgan line is an interesting day trip through the hinterland of Rovinj, which was presented on the page www.bike-istra.com (unfortunately are not really usable data due to incorrect geocoding there GPS offered for downloading). The highlights of the tour are the detour to the end of the Limski fjord and the exploration of Dvigrad - the abandoned ruins.
Tours history: from Rovinj to South East to reach the starting point of the round trip. At km 6.2 distinctive turn links in a very narrow, but nice trail, which pursued a km long. In the further course of the hinterland of Rovinj is up to the Limski fjord crosses on researches grobschottrigen slopes and paths. Despite the low slopes (the landscape is at best as a hilly) the descent with the fully is much more fun! On the last foothills of the sea of Limski fjord arrived, it should be noted unfortunately, that bathing in the fjord because of the fish and shellfish farms and the sensitive micro water budget is prohibited there. It is but to make the possibility of an excursion boat a boat tour through the fjord.
The fjord itself performs as a canyon-like Valley ca 25 km further inland. The further trail along North this Nick of the Valley, where it passes through the lovely thypisch Istrian villages Kruncici, jural and Mrgani. Near the village of Mrgani named after him to pirate captain privateer Sir Henry Morgan have buried a treasure. Soon you reach a paved road that leads in some bends back down in the Lim T al. From afar, you can see the imposing ruins of Dvigrad, prominent in the Valley were built on a hill. It involves a leave town, 1631 by the population due to plague and malaria (moist, supfige vegetation in the Lim Valley) was to flee and since then its a little creepy atmosphere gives rise to legends and stories. Anyway, highly recommended is a visit, access is free, there is but warned of falling masonry.
Of Dvigrad it boots up again on the other side of the Valley and reach Kanfanar (km 40 - ca Tour Center) where you have opportunity to take a lunch break in a tavern.
The way back leads first over asphalt and briefly on the more busy access road to Rovinj, before once again turn in a dirt road to the left (Km44, 6). A prohibition sign indicates already that is this road no longer navigable, who is looking for the adventure still beats 1 km through the forest part difficult to crosses thickets and cobwebs. Later, the way is good mobile, through the quiet, secluded, scenic hinterland on Meadow trails, gravel roads and remote back roads. The asphalt section after bale we have left out and drove through stattdesen on Nice gravel at Crnibek direction the well-known Pebble Bay with the Roman cistern. Here is before you on the way back to Rovinj, which again passes by numerous bays extensively Bademögichkeit.
Base: numerous hotels, pensions and private rooms! eg Villa Kristina(Netter familärer Betrieb, empfehlenswert!)
