The picturesque Rovinj is one of the most beautiful places of the Adriatic. You will find Mediterranean flair with countless art galleries, churches and medieval buildings in the narrow streets of the old town as well as varied Landchaften with beautiful coasts and worth visiting protected areas.
The Thomas line is a nice 1/2Tages tour, which was presented at the page www.bike-istra.com (unfortunately the GPS offered to download there are not really usable georeferencing data due to false)
Tours history: first explored to the old town of Rovinj, not to be missed also the Church Sveta Eufemija (St. Euphemia) to pay a visit, which dominated the city. The further route leads northward to lively road District Road, then finally back car on gravel or paved roads. The route leads along again along old abandoned railroad tracks. At 15 km you pass the ruins of the Church of HL Thomas, which gives the name to the tour. It is a wonderful architecture example of the Istrian Carolingian period from the 8th and 9th century.
The following gravel road leads through the forested southern edge of Limski fjord and is easily passable due to its shady location well on sunny days.
Finally, one should not miss to take a detour to a beautiful lookout point from which good overlooking the Canal along its entire length (10 km).
Will reach the first houses of Rovinjsko Selo you quite a nice little Tavern: Konoba Dado. The friendly host from his kitchen conjures up all sorts of delicious, the salad bowl of the House leaves no Bikerwünsche and is by the way very inexpensive.
Fresh is strengthened on the way back: once again beautiful dirt and gravel roads, before you back put back the last few kilometres to Rovinj on asphalt.
Base: numerous hotels, pensions and private rooms in Rovinj! eg Villa Kristina(Netter familärer Betrieb, empfehlenswert!)
